Nazeema Farisha is a counselling psychologist with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Psychology, (Specialization in counselling). She holds advanced-level certification in Indian Sign Language from Interprex band intermediate-level certification from V-Shesh, and is currently working towards integrating sign language with counselling to make mental health services more accessible to the deaf community.
She holds a certificate in Art and Movement Therapy (Indian Counselling Services) and in Transactional Analysis, and takes an eclectic approach to counselling, tailoring interventions to the needs of each client, and leaning more towards Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) as she believes human beings rooted in the belief that human beings are dialectical – complex amalgams of contradictions, not defined by a single belief system or behavioural pattern.
Outside the therapy room, Nazeema is an ardent reader and takes books very seriously which comes at the cost of sometimes taking it even more seriously than her own life – and writes book reviews on instagram to rant about it.
She loves cats, supports Liverpool FC, and enjoys films and series that leave one questioning life.
